Hello Everyone,
I am now waiting for my flight to Chicago and I discovered that they have free internet access here at the Columbus so I thought it would be the perfect time to test this vintage laptop (c. 2000) with its makeshift wireless connection. So far so go. I was able to check my email and I found out that the files I sent to the publisher in Oregon this morning, arrived in good order. That is great news and a big big job just about finished.
Since my last post I taught Sunday School and preached both the morning and evening services at Black Oak Christian Church in Vanceburg KY. I have been preaching there for over 4 years now. I have lined up 3 professors from Kentucky Christian University to fill in for me while I am gone.
I also had to pack and finish the book I mentioned above, so I have been busy. Last night I went to bed about midnight and got up about 6am. I made some final corrections to book and sent off the files, then I finished packing, and pick up some cash from the bank.
Then it was time to load up the car and drive to Columbus, Ohio, which is about a 2 hour drive from my home in Grayson. I met up with one of my fellow excavation team members here, Dr. Mike Van Sant who teaches at Mt Vernon Nazarene University in Mt Vernon, Ohio. We both had our "box of rocks" as our second bag. This raised some concerns with security, they cut the box open and inspected it but ultimately no problem.
Soon I fly on to Chicago where I will meet up with 10 more from our group, then it is on to London Heathrow where we change planes and the fly to Amman. We will not arrive in Amman until about midnight Amman time. All in all counting from the time I leave Grayson to the time I arrive in Amman it will be about 26 hours of travel time.
We have about 30 people who will join KRP this summer they consist of professors and students from universities in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Kansas, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington State, and North Carolina. We also have two Professors from Germany and of course several from Jordan who will join our project.
I better pack up and get to my gate probably my next blog will be from Jordan???
