Greetings Everyone,
I leave in one week for Jordan. I still have a great deal to get done before I go. I have to make sure everything is covered while I am gone. Deposits, bills, preaching at Black Oak, getting my editing done on a book, etc. etc. etc.
Oh yes and I need to pack too.
Anyway we are shipping back archaeological samples to Jordan. 12 of us are carrying 12 small but heavy boxes of material with us as our "second" bag as we fly. This boxes have pottery sherds, rock samples, and other small items. The largest items are pieces of basalt grinding stones. We are doing this to save money on the shipping. These materials will be returned to the Department of Antiquities because we had the material on loan for research and study. My box just arrived UPS from Knoxville. It is small and the UPS man said "Its heavier than it looks." I guess he should know. My box weighs 49 pounds.
I added a nice feature to blog website today which you can find at http://krp2009.blogspot.com/
It is a clock at the bottom of the blog which gives the current date and time in Jordan. Jordan is 7 hours ahead of EST. Also you should know that on this blog each entry has a date and time. This will tell you when I posted the material, that date and time is also listed under Jordan time.
Take care
